Writing, recording & speaking
I’ve always been a writer—long before I got paid for it. From school newspapers to college lit journals, from a startup gig producing content with pro athletes to internal comms roles at nonprofits and SaaS companies, writing has been the throughline. Even when I was writing fundraising letters and managing a university alumni website, I was blogging on the side (cringey archive sealed forever). The real shift came in 2009, where I merged my love of writing with my talent for project management—and suddenly, I had a voice, a platform, and a new kind of momentum.
Since then, writing has opened doors: a book, a podcast, conference stages, consulting work, and countless conversations with teams trying to do better. I write because I can’t not write—it’s how I make sense of this messy, fascinating world of work. This page is a portfolio of that ongoing work: a mix of articles, talks, interviews, and ideas. Explore a bit. And if you’re looking for someone to help you tell your story—or untangle the parts that are hard to say out loud—let’s talk.
What I'm working on now
Same Team Partners & Teamangle
I co-founded Same Team Partners to help creative leaders and their teams stop spinning and start aligning. Through Teamangle—a framework we created—we help folks improve how they communicate, collaborate, and build culture. We run workshops, publish resources, develop products, and offer coaching to teams that want to grow without burning out.
This work has become a big part of my writing and speaking, and a home base for ideas I’ve been building on for years. Learn more at sameteampartners.com.
In the meantime, you can check out our always-updated content. We publish 3 blog articles, one podcast, and a newsletter every week.

Freelance writing
When I’m not podcasting or helping teams figure things out, I’m writing for other brands. I’ve worked with folks like OnePlan, Resource Guru, Float, and TeamGantt to create content that’s actually useful—not just SEO fluff.
I write about strategic planning, work management, collaboration, and how to make all of it feel a little less soul-sucking. If you’re a brand looking for a voice with experience (and a point of view), get in touch.
I've contributed to books, blogs, magazines, and online publications. Here are just a few samples of articles I've written for online publications:
Project Management for Humans
Project management—it’s not just about following a template or using a tool, but rather developing personal skills and intuition to find a method that works for everyone. I wrote this book to help everyone manage projects like a pro. So, whether you’re a designer or a manager, Project Management for Humans will help you estimate and plan tasks, scout and address issues before they become problems, and communicate with and hold people accountable.
Podcasts
These days, I co-host The High Five! with Greg Storey—a short, weekly podcast where we talk about what’s happening in our work and lives, share the things we’re reading, watching, and learning, and end with a metaphorical high five. It’s equal parts leadership insight, personal reflection, and creative therapy. New episodes drop every Friday, and we keep it casual, candid, and fun.
Before The High Five!, Greg and I produced Sprints & Milestones, a podcast we launched while my book Project Management for Humans was rolling off the press. Season one was a companion to the book, digging into the principles of solid digital project management. Season two (a few years—and a production partner—later) focused on stories of professional failure, told by friends, colleagues, and people we admire. It was one of the most honest and rewarding things I’ve worked on.
You can still listen to Sprints & Milestones wherever you get your podcasts. And if you’re into thoughtful, real talk about work and life, check out The High Five!—we’re just getting started.

Podcast appearances
I like to think I'm a good guest. I'm polite, I show up on time, my microphone working, headphones on, glass of water at the ready, and ready to chat. Get in touch if you'd like to invite me on your podcast. I love to talk about communication, collaboration, culture, project management, operations, and so much more.
Here's a sampling of podcasts I've joined as a guest:
Videos
I’ll be the first to admit: I’m not exactly drawn to the camera. There’s barely any video proof I existed before the iPhone came along. But over time, I’ve found myself in front of the lens more than I ever expected—talking about project management, leadership, and all the messy stuff that comes with doing good work.
Here are a few clips and recordings from talks, interviews, and other on-camera moments I somehow agreed to.
One of my first online classes was a collaboration with the folks at Skillshare, a course that's been taken by almost 25,000 with a very high rating. I'm proud of that video, which was filmed in 2016, while my book was in manuscript form.
Keynotes, Presentations & Workshopps
I’ve had the chance to speak at some incredible events over the years—from packed rooms at SXSW to cozy workshop sessions across the US and UK. A few highlights:
- Founding, hosting, and producing the Digital PM Summit (2012–2022)
- Hosting Deliver Conference (formerly DPM:UK) for several years
- Running my own workshops (and selling them out!)
- Talking shop with amazing people at conferences around the world
These days, I still love getting up in front of a crowd—virtual or IRL—and I’m currently cooking up a new series of workshops.
Want to bring a little strategy, heart, and humor to your event or team? Let’s talk. I’d love to speak at your next event, offsite, or workshop.
