A little Thanksgiving fun with Teamangle

A little Thanksgiving fun with Teamangle

This morning, I heard someone on the radio say, “Happy Hump Day,” and it immediately made me smile. It’s Monday of Thanksgiving week—the starting and halfway point to what I hope will be a few days of relaxing, enjoying great food, and connecting with the people who matter most. And this year, I’m even more excited because we’ve created something fun to bring to your Thanksgiving table: Thanksgiving Teamangle Conversation Cards!

For me, Thanksgiving is shaping up to be a little different this year, but in the best way. I’ll be spending the day with family, enjoying a smaller gathering than the big crowds we used to host. The highlight? My 16-year-old daughter, Juliet, has officially replaced me in the kitchen. She’s an incredible cook and loves taking the lead in the kitchen, so my new job? A possible turkey trot in the morning, relaxing for most of the day, and showing up to eat her amazing creations. Not bad, right?

That shift—letting go of old traditions to embrace new ones—has made me reflect on how Thanksgiving has changed over the years. Growing up, my memories of the holiday were filled with big gatherings, bustling kitchens, and tables overflowing with food. It was chaotic and full of love.

Now, as my kids have grown older and our family has spread out, Thanksgiving looks and feels different. There’s no “kids’ table” anymore; we all sit together, sharing laughs and having conversations that remind me how much I enjoy these moments. In a way, Thanksgiving has become less about the frenzy of hosting and more about meaningful connections.

Why Conversations Matter

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that conversations are at the heart of every meaningful relationship—whether it’s with family, friends, or coworkers. That’s why so much of what we do at Same Team Partners revolves around creating space for conversations that make teams stronger.

Recently, Greg and I ordered the first professionally printed sets of our Teamangle Conversation Cards, a tool we created to help teams improve communication, collaboration, and culture. These cards are designed to spark the kinds of conversations that uncover misalignment, strengthen bonds, and ultimately help teams thrive.

Last week while we were talking about the upcoming holiday, we had a lightbulb moment. Families are teams too, especially around the holidays. Thanksgiving is practically a team-building exercise, with everyone playing their part to make the day special (or at least ensure the turkey doesn’t burn). So, we thought, why not create a family-friendly, Thanksgiving-themed version of the cards?

The result is a free, fun game we’re sharing with you this week. The Thanksgiving Teamangle Conversation Cards are a lighthearted spin on our original deck, filled with silly, thoughtful, and snarky prompts designed to spark connection at your holiday table.

Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving

Whether you’re hosting a big family gathering or keeping it simple this year, I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with great food, meaningful conversations, and moments of joy. Here’s to making memories, sharing laughs, and maybe even trying out a new game at the table.

From my family to yours—Happy Thanksgiving!
